Progress

I have been working hard on my goals. I have been going through this upcoming years curriculum and determine where and how technology will fit into that subject. I can not decide yet how in depth I can get with the technology yet because I do not know my students and I need to understand them and need to know what they understand and don't before deciding if for instance a pod cast is to much for them to handle. I have enjoyed looking at the school year in a different light... I believe that my teammates will think that I am crazy..
I have also thought about sending out my survey to parent and students and with that I believe that I am going to give some homework. I am going to ask that each student memorizes their log on information before they come to school. I believe that this will same me an incredible about of time.
I have also begun to do some research blogging vs. wiki and what that might look like. I will continue this and keep you posted. I am also researching some other sites that I heard about at ISTE.

  2. Amy,
I think that by you having your students memorize their log in prior to school starting will save you an enormous amount of time! This is such a great idea that I may have to steal it from you and use it myself. We have access to our parents emails at school so by sending it their it would even eliminate the paper to be used in the mail. I’m so excited that you posted this so I can maybe try to use it for myself and share it with the rest of the teachers at my school. This would eliminate a whole day of teaching how to create the log in and so on. You could also require them to make a post before school starts to make sure that they received their log in. You could maybe count it as a participation grade once school starts. This is a great idea Amy!
